Happy October, my friends!

Happy October, my friends!

I have a show next weekend (October 12th) at The Lark Theaterin Cheboygan, Michigan - that’s a soft “Ch” sound as in “Chef” or “Charlotte.” It’s pronounced the way that Wisconsinites pronounce the name of the city of Sheboygan in their state (although my German mother always switches the pronunciation around; my friends named Charlotte were given a hard “Ch” and my friends named “Charlie” the opposite). Anyway, that’s where I’ll be and now you know how to say it.

According to the map above (courtesy of the Petosky News) the leaves should be at their peak which should be a draw in and of itself. The fact that I am playing a show might seal the deal for you folks? What do you say? I think you should take a drive to Michigan this weekend and come see the leaves and my show! We both get good reviews.

For those of you in the Cincinnati, Ohio area I’ll be playing a show on October 24th at the Southgate House Revival. This is a hometown show for me and I expect it’ll be sold out (but there may be a few tickets left) so come on down and join us!

Today I’m off to buy pumpkins and bring the Halloween decorations down from the attic where they have been lying in wait to terrify us every time we open the door to get luggage or bring a storage box up. There is a skelaton that stores best hanging up and he gives me a jump-scare nearly every time I enter that spooky room. I prefer a more “cozy harvest/scarecrow/apple cider” type of Halloween but my children and husband like to scare the bejeezus out of the neighborhood so that’s what we do.

May your October (and your Halloween) be terrific! Enjoy the changing weather and continue seeking the joy of being alive.

Cheers,

Alice
